Goldsmiths University of London

QMPF acted as financial advisor to Goldsmiths, University of London on its £37m student accommodation project. The procurement was completed in 9 months, reaching financial close in September 2015.

The 50 year deal, a partnership between the University and Campus Living Villages (CLV), will involve CLV investing in refurbishment, financing and operating 391 beds of the University’s existing stock, spread across 3 sites.

The funding is provided by a £33m bond, listed on the Irish Stock Exchange, and by subordinated debt and equity provided by CLV and its funding partners.

The project was launched via OJEU at the end of December 2014 with a target date for transfer of residences by September 2015. We advised through to financial close, working alongside property and legal advisors. Our role included PQQ evaluation and shortlisting, bid evaluation, financial modelling and advice on the associated commercial, accounting and financial considerations for the University.
