University of Wales Trinity St David

QMPF advised the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (“UWTSD”) on its recent £50m fundraising. The funding will be used to support the University’s Swansea Waterfront Innovation Quarter at SA1 in the centre of Swansea with the first phase including academic space for learning, teaching and applied research as well as wider recreational spaces. QMPF supported the University through the entire funding process, assessing the funding requirement, leading a financial options appraisal and development of the preferred funding solution.

The assessment of funding options and development of the preferred solution included a soft market testing process to assess funder appetite and the creation of a bespoke financial model to assess drawdown and repayment profiles and ensure compliance with financial covenants. This led to a highly competitive solution being achieved by UWTSD.
